Beta I Release Notes...

Race Changes
------------

starting stats are now given based on the race that you choose, all races
give different values but give the same stat total to keep it balanced.

elf race now gains additional mana per level as well as per promotion, and
they also get the best buy/sell prices in shops based on their charisma,
and they cannot be tracked by hostile monsters.

dwarf race now deals additional damage with equipped melee weapons based on
their current physique, they also acquire more gold from all sources, and
when they trigger traps they only take half the damage.

gnome race only have 10 second melee attack rounds, and potion provide double
the effects they give with a slight chance to not even consume the use when
they drink it, and they regenerate more health per tick and can even regen
a small amount while in combat.

humans now gain an experience bonus increase based on their promotion level,
they can have +5 in each stat over all the other races, and when rolling for
a reward or bonus they have double the chance to trigger the reward.

goblin race has now become the halfling race and their weapon attacks can
never be dodged, they gain +1 attack at 35 agility unless they are a monk
in which case they receive a damage bonus on their free attacks, and they
can see in all forms of darkness and take no penalties in the dark.

half-ogre race has now become the draconi race and they gain +5 vitality per
level and +100 per promotion, and due to their scales they have a special
protective armor which nagates 50% of all special attack damage they receive,
and using their wings they always recover quickly and can never trip or fall.

Class Changes
-------------

the warrior class remains the toughest physical character and can wield any
melee weapon and wear any armor and they have the ability to bash down doors
locked by normal keys, and can charge monsters in other rooms temporarily
stunning them.

the sorceror class still cast the most powerful combat spells in the game
and are still restricted to staves and cloth armor but they also have the
ability to meditate to recover lost mana and can levitate out of pits and
also have a new spell type which can teleport them to magic shops in any
town.

acolytes are still the strongest support class that can wield blunt weapons
and wear almost any armor in the game and they also have the ability to pray
to recover their lost mana and recall to the last temple they visited and they
also have new spell types which can luminate the darkness even if it is a
magical type, and they can also bless a player to deal bonus weapon damage.

rogues are a deceptive and cunning class that can wield only one-handed blades
and wear up to unrestrictive metal armors and can climb walls, avoid traps,
pick locks, and deal critical attack damage as well as can sneak around unseen
and in the event things get hairy can escape from combat.

hunters are a very strong and versatile class that can wield almost any melee
weapon and wear only cloth, leather, or heavy hide armors, but may also wield
missile weapons and fire special projectiles at their enemies and they can
also hunt for food, tame wild beasts to fight by their side and they can
also throw weapons with deadly precision, and in the event one of their tamed
beasts falls in combat they will come back with a second wind which allows
them to return to combat.

monks are a new class that can wield no weapons and wear only cloth armor but
they employ a special hand-to-hand combat technique that allows their attacks
to increase with damage on each hit and every 3rd hit triggers a free special
combo attack which gives them the most attacks of any class, and they can also
learn special animal-avatar abilities if they manage to find the various
trainers in the world which will augment their abilities, bolster their defenses,
or support them with healing, boosts and other utilities.

necrolytes may only wield staves and wear cloth armor but make use of dark
energies and poisons to debuff and slay their enemies and they may also
commune with the dead to recover lost health and mana, and can raise fallen
monsters as undead servants to fight by their side temporarily.

promotions are different now, upon reaching level 25 with any class other than
a monk you may combine with another class and gain their abilities and now you
must level up 2 classes by sharing all the exp you gain. the newly acquired
abilities will operate at 50% efficiency unless it is an area-effect spell in
which case it will operate at 25% efficiency and upon reaching level 50/25 with
both your classes you will promote into a special class which is based upon the
2 classes you just raised... now if you promote and opt not to combine with
another class and remain on the path of the class you already are you will gain
special abilities only available to your pure class and be even stronger than
before... monks may not combine with any classes and walk their own path.

the following are pure-class promotion abilities...

Knight-Captain (Warrior)
------------------------
attacks now ignore the armor of the target

Regal Magus (Sorceror)
----------------------
you can now bind to any non-town room and teleport to the room from anywhere

Seraph (Acolyte)
----------------
single target healing spells cast on someone else will heal you for half the amount

Rapscallion (Rogue)
-------------------
when attacking if you are sneaking the first hit will be a backstab which will deal
bonus high damage

Venator (Hunter)
----------------
tamed beasts who have not yet invoked a second wind will intercept any attack that
would otherwise kill you and take 100x the damage amount and if it kills the beast
they may not come back with a second wind

Elder Druid (Druid)
-------------------
you gain the ability to summon elemental guardians to act as permanent pets and
each one will perform a special augmentation to your nature shield that matches
their element.

Master Monk (Monk)
------------------
this class gains no special abilities at promotion

Diabolist (Necrolyte)
---------------------
your raised undead guardians will now either be a reaper which attacks twice per
round or a mage which casts a spell that heals you for a portion of the damage.

all pure classes can find relic weapons in the world when they promote which give
special bonuses or enhancements.. those weapons are...

(Knight-Captain) - Stormbringer Axe
-----------------------------------
final attack of the round deals aoe damage to all hostiles

(Regal Magus) - Magister's Staff
--------------------------------
single target spell kills will cause the target to detonate hitting all other
hostiles in the room

(Seraph) - Herald's Mace
------------------------
can be used once per hour to resurrect a player in the event of their death

(Rapscallion) - Kryss of Quickness
----------------------------------
gain +1 attack

(Venator) - Bloodmoon Axe
-------------------------
All tamed beasts will no longer attack on their own and instead after
you run a round of attacks they will attack that same target dealing
critical attacks in the process

(Elder Druid) - Staff of Regeneration
-------------------------------------
Regeneration spells cast on you will now heal for 3x the amount and
2x the amount when cast on someone else

(Diabolist) - Sacrificial Dagger
--------------------------------
this weapon has a 1/10 chance to instantly kill its target and if it
does so it will heal all of your risen undead by the total amount of
health it had.

due to the removal of pvp combat the ability for hunters to track has been removed

when a hunter hunts for food now, it can only be done in a wilderness area and the
food they acquire will vary and each one has a particular stat boost, however you
may only hunt once every 300 seconds to make more reliance on the rng of the hunt
and to make it more likely a hunter will save certain foods for certain situations.

hunter mesmerize and tame skills have delay counters on them now to prevent spamming
of the ability.

because hunter tames have increased stats and efficiency the limit on tamed beasts
has been lowered from 5 to 3.

druid beguile ability allows them to control 1 charmed creature at a time but if they
combine with a hunter and vice versa there may be bugs not allowing them to carry
their max amount of followers... will monitor this.

necrolyte spells were completely redesigned to fall in line with their "darkness" and
to make their energies add a supportive element. the following have changed...

teka, kateka, giteka, and kusateka are now all level increasing spells and you get a new
one in each town.

dobuza now inflicts 1-2 poison per promotion level.

kamaza now acts as a mana transfusion and the damage it incurs will come back to you
as mana.

yilazi damage has been reduced so the damaging spells around it will hit harder and it
will be used in instances where you want/need the healing component of the spell.

dakima now drains the armor of the target as a corrosive acid, meaning once you hit the
monster with the spell once, it will continue to eat their armor until it reaches 0.

tamikar has been redesigned to deal damage to the monster but give a yilazi-like healing
effect to any undead you have raised, and yes it will apply the heal to all of them.

all storm spells have been removed to maintain balance with their ability to raise the
dead, which hit harder than sorceror summons, and if they promote into a pure class
then they will be raising some pretty powerful undead creatures.

the phase 1 map has been implemented with this release, giving you access to the mountains
and of its new sub-areas as well as the full dungeon including the white rune which will
then give you access to town 2.

the stat caps have been adjusted. if you are not promoted you can gain up to 30 in each stat
and once you promote it will vary. if you choose dual class you can get a max of 35 in each
stat, and if you are a pure class you can get a max of 40, then once you double promote if
you are a hybrid class you can get 50 and if a pure class can get 60.
when you level up you are guaranteed 1 random stat raise if you are under the cap and all
other raises are completely random. whenever you kill a monster that is not in an arena
there is a chance it can drop a "stat scroll" and when you use this scroll you get a
guaranteed stat increase. the chance for this scroll is random but once per hour you will
get one with a higher chance.

new druid stone shield spell in town 1 allows you to receive double armor protection
from your equipped armor.

new druid thorn shield spell in town 2 reflects a portion of all regular attack damage
received as long as the initial damage does not kill you.

each town now sells a resurrection item that will give you better death penalties the
better the item. these items are broken down into "resurrection tiers" that are numbered
by the town it was acquired from. you must be at least the level required to purchase
the item to reap the benefits or it will be disregarded and you will be treated as if
you did not have one. also keep in mind, only ever carry 1 because the first one it finds
is the one it will use. the resurrection tiers are as follows...

tier 0 - lose 20% exp, all equipment, all spells, all inventory, all gold
tier 1 - lose 15% exp, only your armor and magical item, all spells, all inventory, all gold
tier 2 - lose 10% exp, only your magical item, all spells, all inventory, all gold
tier 3 - lose 5% exp, no equipped items, all spells, all inventory, all gold
tier 4 - lose 1% exp, no equipped items, no spells, all inventory, all gold
tier 5 - lose no exp, no equipped items, no spells, no inventory, all gold
tier 6 - lose no exp, no equipped items, no spells, no inventory, only half your gold

gold weight has been removed and instead will be determined by your base physique.

firing and throwing weapons are now on their own delay system and are a single action
command.

alot of targeting has been modified to remove the player element from the name match
since pvp combat is no longer allowed.

Note: promotion 1 relic weapons are in the game but the place to find them is not in yet
as i want to see about where people are promoting at so i can em
