Hunters are survival experts and masters of the wilderness that can wear only
natural armors made of leather, hide, or cloth, and can wield almost any melee
weapon and may also employ the use of throwing weapon proficiencies.

They start with the following...

    Vitality 28

They gain the following skills...

1 Hunt for food and replenish your water containers
5 Tame wild beasts as permanent pets that can gain exp and level up
10 Mend the wounds of your tamed beasts with bandages
20 Thrown weapons can bonus abilities based on the weapon type
P1 Call for a stampede from all of your inactive pack members
P2 Set a spike trap in a room that will damage a single hostile
P3 Set an explosive trap in a room that will damage all hostiles
P4 Can equip relic weapons which level up and gain bonuses

Hunter pet system info...

each main "region" will always have something that is tamable. main regions are identified
as the main area not the dungeons that reside within them, so Mountains, Forest, Swamp, etc...

tamable beasts come in 3 classes. they are as follows...

Brute .. this class has high defenses and vitality but lower damage output. also their special traits are all about protecting their controller.

Striker .. this class has low defense and low armor but deals high damage. also their special traits are all
about increasing their damage output.

Warden .. this class is more balanced and can come multiple ways to provide a more balanced attack. also their
traits are balanced as well enhancing damage, survivability, and providing aid and support to their
controller.

Primal .. this class is a special one, these beasts are the only ones that have a primary attack, a secondary
attack, and a special attack. also their talents enhance their own abilities and these are quite rare as each
region only has an 0.5% each hour to spawn one and can only spawn one a day.

you can tame up to 10 beasts in your bestiary but can only have 2 active in your pack at a time with the exception of primal beasts, you can only have one of those active and it takes up both your pack slots.

when a tamed beast attacks it gains exp just like you do and it is split, half goes to you and half goes to them
and they can level up to level 12 while gaining a talent point at levels 4/8/12 which can be slotted into a
talent tree.

when a tamed beast dies, it gets a resurrection timer of 1 hour and when the hour is up you can resurrect it.

this system will be active in the test version and if you want to test with some primals let me know ill manually spawn some for ya,

#2
implemented this morning...

Rocky Mountains Primal Beast... Griffon
Dense Forest Primal Beast ... Chimera

if a primal beast spawns a message is sent to everyone in the game as such...

"A griffon was spotted somewhere in the mountains"

then a hunter can run over and tame it.

Throw Mastery Info...

Throwing Spear (town8) - will impale the target preventing any movement

made a change to taming beasts...

now you provoke it by utilizing the command "TAME <BEAST>" this will cause it to deal increased damage against
you and take less damage from you but when it is defeated by you it will become one of your permanent beasts.
now once you do invoke the tame command, the taming status only lasts for 300 seconds, so you must defeat it within that timeframe, or it will despawn.
no one can "steal" it from you like in a lot of traditional mmo games, and no one else can attack it either,
so as long as you get to the beast and start the tame it will be yours if you defeat it.

couple things to know...

you can only have 1 of any beast type in your pack at any time. so if you already have a mountain lion you cannot tame another.

due to the "rare" primal beast spawns if you fail to tame it within the 300 seconds and it despawns, it will
have a chance to spawn again that day, but it goes back into the random queue and will have a chance again
like everything else to spawn each hour so be prepared before attempting to tame one.

modified the tamable beast classes as follows...

WARDEN CLASS - high armor, high vitality, low damage (talents based on protection)
SLAYER CLASS - low armor, low vitality, high damage (talents based on enhancing attacks)
RAIDER CLASS - medium armor, medium vitality, medium damage (talents based on protection, defense, and damage)
PRIMAL CLASS - regular attack, secondary attack, and a special attack (talents enhance those abilities)

made some adjustments to the tamed beast class stats...

Primals gain 100 vitality at level 1, 50-100 vitality per level, and 3 armor per level
Wardens gain 80 vitality at level 1, 40-80 vitality per level, and 4 armor per level
Raiders gain 60 vitality at level 1, 30-60 vitality per level, and 2 armor per level
Slayers gain 50 vitality at level 1, 25-50 vitality per level, and 1 armor per level

damage scaling is still a work in progress... with a max level of 12 i need to tune in in a way
that their damage becomes viable at higher level tiers including the end-game area.

damage is based on their level as well as class and right now not including talent bonuses we have...

Primal Class
------------
primary attack: 5-10x level (level 12 = 60-120 a hit)
secondary attack: 2-5x level (level 12 = 24-60 a hit to all in room)
special attack: 6-12x level (level 12 = 72-144 a hit)

Slayer Class
------------
primary attack: 6-12x level (level 12 = 72-144 a hit)

Raider Class
------------
primary attack: 4-8x level (level 12 = 48-96 a hit)

Warden Class
------------
primary attack: 2-6x level (level 12 = 24-72 a hit)

there are also talent points which will augment this in some way like ignoring armor, never missing,
cleaving all hostiles with a single attack, etc... talents come later on after the system is fine tuned.

ok the hunter class has been fully implemented into the test version and during testing there are a few things to note...

when traversing the map if you are teleported your pack beasts are supposed to deactivate, you can call them
again from your new room

when killed, all active pack beasts are to despawn and can be called again after you leave whatever town you
revived in

when entering a town all active pack beasts are to despawn, and can be called again when you leave

when forced from a room, all of your pack beasts are to follow

if you notice any of the above not happening, let me know so i can make some adjustments.

i have one more class to add before i launch a playable test version.

revised the trap skills...

setting a spiked or explosive trap now sets a delay of 900 seconds (15min) before you can place another and sets
the trap with a delay of 300 seconds (5min) before it will expire if not triggered.

the spiked trap hits a single target for 2-10x level of damage and the explosive trap hits all hostiles for
3-6x level of damage.

yeah so when i deploy a test server it is mainly a "playground" of sorts not really a production environment.
my goal is to never reset but sometimes i have no choice and there are special testing commands in the game
that allow you to do certain tasks such as editing yourself and teleporting around the world but when using
a test command on yourself it will flag your character to be reset when you next enter to preserve balance.
