with the upcoming druid class i wanted to touch base on the changes to the elemental guardian summoning system which many said was kind of confusing before and after double-checking i noticed that it was quite vague and uninformative....

once you acquire level 5 you will gain the ability to summon elemental guardians and to unlock the guardians you must traverse the main area of each region (dense forest, dismal swamp, rocky mountains,etc...) and you will come across a "sprite" enemy based on a specific element (stone sprite, woodland sprite, water sprite,etc...) and when you kill 1 if you have not yet ever killed 1 and have not yet unlocked the guardian you will get a message to kill X more... upon killing that many more you will get another message asking you to seek out the shrine and pay your homage so you find the shrine in that same zone and upon walking in type "worship" and you are granted the ability to now summon that elements guardian as a permanent ally which has its own benefits based on the element and also it will unlock that shrine as a recall option for the druid recall skill.

the current prototype guardians are as follows...

Stone Guardian (rocky mountains) - heavy armored medium damaging ally
Bramble Guardian (dense forest) - physical attacks against it return a portion of the damage
Toxic Guardian (dismal swamp) - attacks on targets injects with +1 poison
Fire Guardian (volcanic island) - attacks on enemies also hit all other hostiles
Earth Guardian (deep forest) - casts a healing spell on you every 60 seconds)
Smoke Guardian (tropical island) - can be commanded to move and it will teleport you to it (even through doors)
Ice Guardian (frozen tundra) - attacks twice per round and ignores armor
Sand Guardian (arrid drylands) - heavy magic resistence medium damaging ally

their "special" effects have been removed from version 3.20 and can now be found in special nature shields
that are available in each town's spell shop

there are also a few "special" once that will come available at a later date... again these are prototypes so they will also change after the test release.
